Your Seasonal Guide to Cancer-Fighting Foods
As we transition into autumn, take a moment to appreciate the seasonal produce that’s available around you. When you give preference to in-season produce, you will:
• Eat the best flavours the season has to offer
• Eat the freshest and most nutritious produce. Local produce travels shorter distances to arrive at your table, meaning that it can be harvested at the peak of its freshness and nutrient and vitamin content – a key component of any healthy, disease-fighting diet.
• Buy produce that is often more affordable. Eating fruits and vegetables during their natural seasons means that they will be at their most abundant.
• Help to promote more sustainable farming, which is better for the environment.
Loma Linda University offers an excellent visual guide to help you plan your cancer-fighting diet including more nutrient-dense foods year round. Click here to access their guide: https://lluh.org/patients-visitors/health-wellness/your-seasonal-guide-cancer-fighting-foods
