Advocacy
Colorectal Cancer Canada (CCC) is a patient-based organization that understands the challenges of coping with the disease. We strive to promote colorectal cancer awareness and education, provide support to patients and their families and advocate on their behalf. CCC is also engaged in broader national and provincial health policy issues that touch all cancer patients, such as: patient values and preferences in health technology assessment, cancer clinical trials and real world evidence.
CCC has three major goals for its advocacy efforts:
- Promoting population-based colorectal cancer screening programs in all provinces and territories
- Cancer prevention through the promotion of healthy lifestyles
- Equal and timely access to effective treatments to improve patient outcomes

Ready For The Next Round
Colorectal Cancer Canada’s “Ready for the Next Round” campaign addresses the disruptions in cancer care caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. It aims to build a more resilient healthcare system by ensuring uninterrupted colorectal cancer screening and treatment during future crises.
Health Technology Assessment
Colorectal Cancer Canada’s “HTA – Time to Patient” initiative aims to shorten the lengthy process of approving new cancer treatments in Canada. By bringing together patients, experts, and policymakers, we work to ensure faster access to life-saving therapies for those who need them most.
Patient Values Project
The Patient Values Project emphasizes the importance of incorporating patient perspectives into healthcare decisions. By defining and measuring patient values, this initiative ensures that treatment evaluations and policies reflect the needs and preferences of those affected by colorectal cancer.
