Never Too Young Survey Launch

The world was shocked late last week as we learned about the tragic death of 43-year-old actor Chadwick Boseman after a courageous battle with colon cancer. Unfortunately, Chadwick’s case is one of many, as early age onset colorectal cancer (EAO CRC) rates are rising sharply among young and middle-aged populations. Colorectal Cancer Canada’s Never Too Young program aims to bring awareness and education to Canadian’s regarding EAO CRC, and supports patients who are currently in their journey.

This week, we are pleased to announce the launch of our 2nd Never Too Young: Early-Onset Colorectal Cancer survey. The purpose of this survey is to explore perceptions of early age onset colorectal cancer patients and caregivers regarding their experiences and needs related to the cancer diagnosis in Canada and compare to our 1st survey results. The results of the survey will help to identify gaps in screening and services, regional differences in care, the average time between presenting symptoms to diagnosis, addressing the unique needs of young colorectal cancer patients (for example, fertility preservation), and much more!

If you are an early-age onset colorectal cancer patient currently in treatment or completed treatment, or a caregiver of an EAO CRC patient, please find our survey here. Please feel free to circulate the survey among your networks.
