It is common for people to experience changes in sex, fertility, and relationships during and after undergoing cancer treatment. Psychological, emotional and physical changes as a result of cancer treatment may cause changes in body image and self-identity, and result in feelings of stress or anxiety in relation to intimacy with another person. People may lose their sexual desire or interest altogether. While some patients may worry about changes to their physical appearance, others might be concerned about functional changes. Such concerns often lead to insecurity, which can strain existing relationships or make dating more challenging.

In this toolkit, we will discuss sexuality and fertility in the context of colorectal cancer treatment and survivorship. This toolkit is designed to help individuals of all ages to  better understand how to deal with sexual modifications that may arise as a result of cancer and/or its treatment, as well as aid you in finding new ways to engage in romance and intimacy during and after cancer treatment.
