New At-Home Colorectal Cancer Screening Kit Now Available from LifeLabs®

LifeLabs is making it easier than ever to take charge of your health. With the launch of its new Colorectal Health (FIT) Kit, Ontarians can now screen for signs of colorectal cancer from the comfort and privacy of their home.

Why Early Screening Matters

Colorectal cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in Canada, but it doesn’t have to be. When caught early through regular screening, 9 out of 10 people can survive it.(1) The problem? Many people don’t qualify for publicly funded testing, or they may put it off due to busy schedules or lack of access to a family doctor. This kit helps close that gap.

The Fecal Immunochemical Test (FIT) looks for hidden blood in your stool—a possible early sign of colorectal cancer. It’s a simple test that can help catch problems before symptoms start, when they’re most treatable.

Who is this kit for?

  • Adults aged 50 to 74 at average risk of colorectal cancer and who are also: not eligible for the government’s free screening program
  • Those without a family doctor or provincial health coverage
  • Anyone looking for a private, convenient testing option

Note: This test is for routine screening and can only be done once every months. It is not suitable for people who experience symptoms or those at increased risk of developing colon cancer.(2)

How it Works

  1. Order Your Kit Online
Buy the kit from the LifeLabs online store or visit the product page to learn more.
  2. Collect Your Sample at Home
The kit includes everything you need to collect a small stool sample quickly and easily.
  3. Send It In
Use the prepaid envelope to return your sample to LifeLabs.
  4. Get Your Results Online
A few days after LifeLabs receives your sample, you’ll be notified by email that your results are ready. If the result is abnormal, you’ll get a call from one of LifeLabs’ clinical partners to walk you through the next steps.

Your health. Your terms.
Taking care of your health doesn’t have to be complicated. The Colorectal Health (FIT) Kit is a simple way to stay informed and catch potential issues early—when they’re most treatable.
